Greyhound racing is the sport of racing greyhounds(a type of DOG) chasing a lure (traditionally an artificial 'hare' or 'RABBIT') on a track until they arrive at the finish line.
There is a racing field in Cannington Park.
Huge scoreboard listing the details of every race - abt 20 races per night, 15-20 min interval.
Race is on every Wed and Sat
Here is how the race goes:
First, the owners/trainers will walk their greyhounds in front of the spectator seats to showcase the greyhounds.
They then head towards the starting point and keep their greyhounds in their respective cages
Bang goes off, gates open, and the greyhounds start racing
Let me magnify:
This is the fake rabbit which the greyhounds are chasing
Quite ugly and fake-looking, IMO
Forgot to mention, the most important part of the race: the betting
Without much knowledge of the race, I randomly place my bet on 3 dogs. There goes my $$$ down the drain. haha
Stupid dogs, after racing for so many nights, haven they realise that they have been chasing a FAKE rabbit all the while???
Omg, this is so funny!!I can't help replying your rhetorical question, LOL. Apparently not.
