They happen to be on the same boat, filming some Discovery channel show called "Travel & Living". Forgot the exact name. Will be telecasted in 2012. keep a lookout.
Main sail hoisted after we motored our way out of the harbour..
Fishermen sighted, probably catching oysters
Sea Lions sighted, sun-tanning on the rocks
Most importantly, WHALES sighted!!
This species sighted is called the Southern Right whale (Eubalaena australis). Can grow up to 18m in length and 80 tonnes in weight, usually spotted in the southern hemisphere - migrating up and down from the Antarctica. The southern right whale is readily distinguished from others by the callosities (barnicles-looking growth) on its head, a broad back without a dorsal fin, and a long arching mouth that begins above the eye.
Whales are friendly creatures. John ,the skipper, plays his recorder in an attempt to attract the whales.
It WORKED !!
The whale swam really close, and went right under our boat...
Saw this cute little girl taking photos too..
